The best complaint

How one member’s complaint inspired a simpler monthly wine club: four bottles, one each week, carefully chosen to make wine easy.

Paris, France

Hello Friends,

The best complaint I have had about our Wine Explorers Club came from Hank.

This week, as the dust settles from election season, I have been thinking about decisions. Not about ballots or voting booths — I cannot vote in the US elections, nor here in Paris — but about the everyday choices we all make, and how sometimes it is nice to let someone else take the reins.

Choosing clothes can be a hassle. Deciding what to eat without falling for the easiest unhealthy option. And often, choosing a bottle of wine can feel exactly the same.

Who has not had that moment of hesitation standing in front of endless shelves at the wine store?

There is something comforting about letting someone else take the lead.

Working in wine, I often find myself in the position where someone looks across the table and says, “You decide.” And honestly, I love that.

I love that moment of trust. It is something I have grown used to over the years.

That is what made Hank’s feedback stand out.

I met him for a glass in Paris back in April, and he had one very specific complaint about the club: the timing.

Hank was frustrated.

He said:

“I don’t need six bottles every two months. A month has four weeks — that means eight weeks, and six bottles doesn’t cut it. It bothers me. I want four bottles a month. One bottle per week. Something I can enjoy, week in, week out.”

It was the best kind of feedback: honest, direct, and absolutely fair.

Listening to members like Hank helps us fine-tune what we do so we can deliver exactly what you are looking for.

So I made it happen.

The Weekly Pour Was Born

Four carefully chosen bottles of wine every month. One for each week.

No more stress over what to open — just good wine, ready to enjoy.

Chosen by someone you trust. It is like I am sitting at your table, selecting something special to share.

The Weekly Pour started as one simple request, but before long, 15 members had joined. It became clear there was real interest, even if it meant more manual work behind the scenes.

Curating takes time, and I wanted to make sure it was done properly.

So now we are opening it up to everyone.

What to Expect

  • Four bottles each month

  • Usually red wines

  • Occasionally Champagne

  • Wines selected with care from previous and current collections

The goal is simple: remove the question of what wine should we open tonight?

A Small Family Test

Matt, our head of marketing, even signed his mother up while we were testing the idea.

Thank you, Mrs. Diehl, for your feedback — and for answering all of our questions so patiently. It genuinely helps us improve future selections.

Matt now says he no longer needs to bring wine to Sunday roast, a tradition his Irish family takes very seriously.

He calls it:

“The best lazy son perk ever.”

Why We Built It

We even considered calling it The No-Brainer Club, because that is exactly what it is designed to be.

It began with one customer, then grew to twenty, and now it is ready to share more widely.

You may sometimes see bottles from earlier collections, but every bottle is selected with the same focus on quality.

That remains the heart of the club.

A Simple Decision Made Easy

Every day brings countless decisions.

Some are big. Some are small. Some stay with us longer than they should.

The Weekly Pour is here to make one of those decisions easier.

Let wine take center stage — something that brings people together, starts conversation, and helps put the rest of the day aside for a while.

Join The Weekly Pour

Let us decide, and you enjoy.

For now, I will leave the decision to you.

Have a great weekend.

Cheers,
Diego
