Some vineyards produce exceptional wines.

A select few become part of wine history.

Blackbird’s 2021 Muir-Hanna Vineyard Chardonnay comes from Napa Valley’s historic Muir-Hanna Vineyard, the same vineyard source tied to the Chardonnay submitted by Chateau Montelena at the legendary 1976 Judgment of Paris—a tasting that forever changed the world’s perception of American wine.

Rather than relying on its pedigree, this wine lets the vineyard speak for itself.

Crafted as a single-vineyard, one-time bottling by acclaimed winemaker Aaron Pott, the fruit comes from the cool Oak Knoll District at the southern end of Napa Valley, where Chardonnay develops exceptional flavor while preserving freshness. The wine was barrel fermented with minimal intervention and aged for 20 months in French oak, resulting in a Chardonnay that favors balance and precision over excess.

Awarded 95 points by Jeb Dunnuck, it opens with aromas of white peach, ripe citrus, and delicate flowers layered over polished oak. The palate is concentrated yet refined, offering a crystalline texture, vibrant acidity, and a beautiful mineral backbone that carries through a long, elegant finish accented by toasted almond and subtle oak.

Serve at 50–55°F alongside roast chicken, lobster, seared scallops, creamy pasta, almond-crusted fish, or aged Gouda. Drink now through 2030.

This is Napa Chardonnay with both history and restraint—a beautifully crafted expression of one of California’s most significant vineyard sites.
