Sunal Ilógico | 2018 | Salta, Argentina
8,950 feet
3rd highest vineyard in the world
Partnership exclusive in the U.S.
10x resveratrol levels and 93% less sugar than bulk grocery store reds
The isolated vineyard of Luracatao sits at 8,950 ft. above sea level, on a northerly slope completely surrounded by mountains. The surrounding rocks soak up the heat, protecting the vines from freezing at night.
When winemaker Augustin Lanus first made wine from Luracatao, the wine’s inky red color actually managed to turn his stainless-steel vats bright red! (The coloring is a tell-tale sign of high resveratrol levels.
Lab testing shows levels in this wine are up to 10 TIMES that of other wines.) Augustin was also surprised to find notes that you don’t tend to find in other Malbecs – black olive, violet, graphite, and blackberry. You should drink this wine soon to get the full effect of its freshness and rare floral expression.
Puramun Reserva | 2016 | Valle de Uco, Argentina
The personal project of “Argentina’s most Important Winemaker” Pepe Galante
95 points from Tim Atkin
92 points from Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
Only 4,000 cases made
In 2010, Argentina’s “most important winemaker” Pepe Galante walked away from the legendary Catena winery after 34 years at the helm. As it turned out, he was leaving to do something special: to handcraft his first personal, 100% family-owned wine, Puramun. (Only 4,000 cases a year.)
Look at its opaque color and you’ll understand why Europeans in the Middle Ages called Malbec “black wine.” And yes, the flavor is just as potent as the color. But don’t be afraid; there’s subtlety here too.
You’ll find aromas of red berry and black fruit, with a touch of spice. This Puramun is proof that a bold, intense Malbec can be elegant. On the palate, it’s an energetic wine, with silky, caressing tannins (unusually soft for a high elevation wine).
The wine has received rave reviews from Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate (92 pts) and wine competition judge Tim Atkin (95 pts), who praised its “elegant…subtle spices, well integrated oak and silky, palate-caressing tannins.”
Valle de La Puerta Gran Reserva | 2014 | Famatina Valley, Argentina
Small-lot production of the highest quality
Produced only in the best vintages
This small-lot blend from high in Argentina’s Famatina Valley uses only the best grapes from the winery’s best-ripening vineyards, and is produced only in the most auspicious vintages.
Traces of orange mixed in with its inky red color. The nose is earthy and mineral; fresh blackberry mixed with flint, or even clay or slate, plus licorice and dark cocoa, and subtle French vanilla too. And the distinctive signature from the 10% Syrah: black pepper and tar.
On the palate, an oily body amplifies ripe blackberry coulis and dark cherry. This is a wine that has aged very nicely, making it enjoyable to drink now. But the freshness and fruit prove it’s still youthful.
Mayuco | 2020 | Calchaqui Valley, Argentina
Partnership exclusive
No oak
90 points from Robert Parker
Only 9,000 bottles made
Deep in Argentina’s desert (and deserted) Calchaquí Valleys, a river called Mayuco feeds a few acres of thick, dark malbec grapes. The Calchaquí desert, dry and extremely high altitude, is a harsh environment where old malbec vines grow on their original rootstock under hot, harsh sun and chilly nights.
Here winemaker Raúl Dávalos continues a family tradition 200 years old, producing handmade, unfiltered, critically acclaimed wines with an astonishing depth of flavor and soaring antioxidant levels. Nose of fresh berry with a spicy kick. Let it aerate a moment, and you’ll find velvety tannins & hints of dark chocolate on the palate.
Luca G-Lot Pinot Noir | 2018 | Valle de Uco, Argentina
Locally-owned vineyards
4,500 feet
94 points, James Suckling
92 points, Wine Advocate
Winemaker Laura Catena, daughter of Argentinian wine pioneer Nicolas Catena, creates small batches of artisan-quality wines, striving to capture the nature of their individual terroirs.
Catena has a vision of a new breed of Argentine wines, ones which rely on small, locally-owned vineyards, each vinification produced in small quantities, each a true expression of its own terroir. She uses only the best fruit from select high-altitude, low-yield vineyards, often working with small growers all over the Uco Valley to source the best, most interesting harvests.
With this wine, Luca Vineyards made history as the first to plant Pinot Noir at over 4,500 feet – the highest elevations in Mendoza for this varietal. Located in Gualtallary, they called the vineyard the G-Lot.
Modern winemaking practices and primarily French oak aging elevate these wines to the level demanded by true wine connoisseurs. This Argentinian pinot is made in the cool-climate Burgundian style. Garnet color, with strawberry, cola root, and leather on the nose. Complex on the palate, with spices and raspberry jam. Fresh finish.
Casarena Cabernet Franc | 2017 | Mendoza, Argentina
3,011 ft.
Agrelo district Mendoza’s top terroir for Cabernet Franc grapes
92 pts (James Suckling)
This cabernet franc comes from a group of friends, whose project began with restoring an old sandstone winery in Lujan de Cuyo. After receiving multiple awards on their malbec wine, they purchased a parcel of 11-year-old cab franc vines in the famous Agrelo, just across the river from Lujan de Cuyo and well-known as one of the best spots for the variety in all of Argentina.
The aromas are classic for cab franc: black fruit and bell pepper. But pour a glass and you’ll discover the unique, stony mouthfeel – think less plush Burgundian, more ‘high plains drifter.’ Pair with a hearty lentil soup, a big plate of meatballs, or whatever just came off the grill.

Anko Flor de Cardon | 2018 | Salta, Argentina
5,700 feet
Only 1,000 cases made
93 points, James Suckling
92 points, Wine Spectator
91 points, Tim Atkin
The vines of Anko grow in the shadow of giant cacti in the desert lands outside of Salta (the city nearest to the Calchaquí Valley). To quote Anko winemaker Jeff Mausbach, “Salta is a land of extremes – extreme beauty, extreme altitude, extreme sunlight.
These extremes make for a singular expression of Malbec – powerful, structured wines with a savory minerality that is very different from other regions in Argentina.”
This is an extremely small batch wine – 1,000 cases only. You’re going to taste the desert – a product of the crushed mica in the razor-thin topsoil.
This malbec is also a consistent 90+ winner, receiving rave reviews from James Suckling (93 pts) and Wine Spectator (92 pts), who praised its “creamy midpalate, with a long, intense finish.” Snatch it up while you can.
Colección Quinquela Motivo de Puerto | 2017 | Famatina Valley, Argentina
From the ancient Incan valley of Famatina, comes this “work of art” malbec blend
Named after one of Argentina’s most famous artists
91 points (James Suckling)
The ancient Incan valley of Famatina is nestled between Salta and Mendoza. Here, the La Puerta winery produces a big, yet approachable wine by blending malbec and cabernet sauvignon.
The result is an intense ruby red colour with burgundy reflections. Aromas of coffee, plum jam, ripe fruit, liquorice and cinnamon are intertwined with notes of vanilla and a touch of mint. On the palate it is soft, with a medium body and sweet tannins that give it a long and elegant finish.

A note about our Satisfaction Guarantee: Wines, sadly, are not like power tools. A hardware store can always resell a hammer you used a couple times. Not so for a bottle of wine. Once you pop the cork, it’s a total loss to us. For that reason, we cannot offer full refunds on these offers. But don’t worry, if the wine arrives and there’s something wrong with it, just give us a call and we’ll do what we can to make it right.
