2021 Best-Sellers: Get Up to 20% OFF for the Holidays!

We’ve opened up our cellar this holiday season to bring you the Partnership’s most popular wines we’ve released this year.

To no surprise, they’re all from Argentina.

These wines are perfect for: your Christmas feast, gifting to a loved one, or simply sitting by the fire on a cold winter’s night.

These wines are highly rated and hard to come by. You won’t be able to go out and get them at your local liquor store on Christmas Eve.

If you’ve been itching to travel but are stuck at home, these wines are a great way to escape to another part of the world without having to leave your house.

Here are the details on our Holiday sale…

Sunal Ilógico Malbec | 2018 | Calchaqui Valley, Argentina

The 8,950 foot malbec

3rd highest vineyard in the world
Partnership exclusive in the U.S.
10x resveratrol levels and 93% less sugar than bulk grocery store reds

A vibrant red color, with shiny hues of blue and purple that give it a more youthful look. Aromas of fresh berry (cranberry and blueberry) with discrete herbal scents (basil and oregano).

This is a clean wine on the palate – no overwhelming body here. The tannins are smooth and soft with delicate edges. A clever, but quiet, wine. Give it time, and it may just show you something special.

In the finish you discover an earthy, almost ashy drying sensation to amplify the herbs. I even got a touch of mint and spice too, a white and green pepper mix. This wine will open up your taste buds. Be ready for a meal.

Puramun Reserva | 2016 | Uco Valley, Argentina

The personal project of “Argentina’s most Important Winemaker”

95 points from Tim Atkin
92 points from Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
Only 4,000 cases made

In 2010, Argentina’s “most important winemaker” Pepe Galante walked away from the legendary Catena winery after 34 years at the helm. As it turned out, he was leaving to do something special: to handcraft his first personal, 100% family-owned wine, Puramun. (Only 4,000 cases a year.)

Look at its opaque color and you’ll understand why Europeans in the Middle Ages called Malbec “black wine.” And yes, the flavor is just as potent as the color. But don’t be afraid; there’s subtlety here too.

You’ll find aromas of red berry and black fruit, with a touch of spice. This Puramun is proof that a bold, intense Malbec can be elegant. On the palate, it’s an energetic wine, with silky, caressing tannins (unusually soft for a high elevation wine).

The wine has received rave reviews from Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate (92 pts) and wine competition judge Tim Atkin (95 pts), who praised its “elegant…subtle spices, well integrated oak and silky, palate-caressing tannins.”

Anko Flor de Cardon | 2018 | Calchaquí Valley, Argentina

The “Mile High” Malbec

5,700 feet
Only 1,000 cases made
93 points, James Suckling
92 points, Wine Spectator
91 points, Tim Atkin

The vines of Anko grow in the shadow of giant cacti in the desert lands outside of Salta (the city nearest to the Calchaquí Valley). To quote Anko winemaker Jeff Mausbach, “Salta is a land of extremes – extreme beauty, extreme altitude, extreme sunlight. These extremes make for a singular expression of Malbec – powerful, structured wines with a savory minerality that is very different from other regions in Argentina.”

This is an extremely small batch wine – 1,000 cases only. You’re going to taste the desert – a product of the crushed mica in the razor-thin topsoil. This malbec is also a consistent 90+ winner, receiving rave reviews from James Suckling (93 pts) and Wine Spectator (92 pts), who praised its “creamy midpalate, with a long, intense finish.” Snatch it up while you can.

Colección Quinquela Bonarda | 2017 | Famatina Valley, Argentina

Argentina’s “Sacred Valley”
Named after Benito Quinquela Martin – Argentina’s Most Famous Artist

The ancient Incan valley of Famatina is nestled between Salta and Mendoza. Here, the La Puerta winery produces a big, yet approachable wine blending Malbec & Cabernet Sauvignon for a Bordeaux-style red blend.

The result is an intense ruby red colour with burgundy reflections. Aromas of coffee, plum jam, ripe fruit, liquorice and cinnamon are intertwined with notes of vanilla and a touch of mint. On the palate it is soft, with a medium body and sweet tannins that give it a long and elegant finish.

A note about our Satisfaction Guarantee: Wines, sadly, are not like power tools. A hardware store can always resell a hammer you used a couple times. Not so for a bottle of wine. Once you pop the cork, it’s a total loss to us. For that reason, we cannot offer full refunds on these offers. But don’t worry, if the wine arrives and there’s something wrong with it, just give us a call and we’ll do what we can to make it right.
