Our Favorite Wines of 2021… Up to 20% Off!

Last week, Julien Miquel looked back on 2021 and our favorite wines of the year…

We received so many replies from Partnership members asking if these wines were available for purchase… we had to make something work!

So this week, we wrangled together these wines from our cellar and we’re happy to make them available to you to cap off 2021.

We don’t have many of these wines left after our initial collection release… but we’ve got all the wines in-house, so you wont have to put up with shipping delays…

And as always, you’ll get 10% off your order of 6 bottles… and 20% off your order of 12+ bottles.

Here’s what we had to say about the wines we fell in love with in 2021…

Our Favorites of 2021…

Julien’s Favorite: Schiavenza Barolo Serralunga d’Alba | 2016 | Piedmont, Italy

What Julien Says:

“Honestly I struggled to name only one as my favorite for this year, as I had so many emotional moments tasting pretty much every wine we had this year… But the jewel in the crown from Italy was this 2016 Barolo by Schiavenza. The Barolo appellation in the north of Italy is one of the greatest in the world , no question, that delivers somewhat of the finesse of a pinot noir with wines that are also acidic and somewhat a little lighter in tannic texture. Together with an incredible density of flavors and huge depth… light and approachable yet rich and powerful… I was very pleased we were able to bring that wine to you.”

Will’s Favorite: Tacuil Unoak | 2020 | Calchaquí Valley, Argentina

What Will Says:

“I’d nominate Unoak as my favorite of the year. It is a low intervention, extreme altitude Malbec (pre-Phylloxera French clones), made by 6th generation winemaker, Raul Davalos… an exclusive of the Partnership. It is as pure an expression of extreme altitude terroir and wine-making as you’re going to get… And a great value… It uses grapes from the Bonner family vineyard (8,400 ft) at Pucarilla as well as from neighboring Tacuil (8,500 ft). After a good decanting it shows impressive balance and depth, the tell-tale rich Calchaqui Valley dark-fruit flavors and tannins, but also with a smooth finish achieved without the help of oak barrels…”

Diego’s Favorite: Laudum Nature Petit Verdot | 2019 | Alicante, Spain

What Diego Says:

“Do you know how hard it is to work the Petit Verdot as a single varietal? VERY COMPLICATED! Part of the idea of the club is to be able to drink something unique, something out of the beaten track and this wine has that. The floral expressions of this wine are fantastic, something that wine enthusiasts must try! I had this with a lamb dish and it was great!”

Lucy’s Favorite: Edict Pinot Noir | 2019 | Anderson Valley, California

What Lucy Says:

“This light, refreshing red from our California collection was great for summer drinking; a great compliment to the warm weather & fresh summer foods. The perfect counterbalance to our more robust reds, it was popular among my white wine and red wine drinking friends alike.”

Barry’s Favorite: Torello Finca Can Martí Brut Corpinnat | 2015 | Penedès, Spain

What Barry Says:

“This was the #1 seller of the spanish pack, and has a great story: the new DO of Corpinnat and it is exclusive to BPW in the USA. With the higher prices of Champagnes these days, Cava is a great choice. Fun to drink. Evidently well liked.”

Matt’s Favorite: Atypico Cabernet Sauvignon | 2017 | Salta, Argentina

What Matt Says:

“At the risk of sounding too obsessed with Argentine wines, I’m going to go with the Atypico 2017 from Tolombon. That’s a wine I would drink every day (with or without dinner!). I’ve begrudgingly given it to my in-laws and a few friends who have all loved it. It definitely fits a wide range of palates…

And the story is great. The image of a small, dusty town along Argentina’s version of Route 66 producing this wine is incredible. You would never think a wine like this could come from a place like that. The Wikipedia image of Tolombon is quite literally a desert!”

A note about our Satisfaction Guarantee: Wines, sadly, are not like power tools. A hardware store can always resell a hammer you used a couple times. Not so for a bottle of wine. Once you pop the cork, it’s a total loss to us. For that reason, we cannot offer full refunds on these offers. But don’t worry, if the wine arrives and there’s something wrong with it, just give us a call and we’ll do what we can to make it right. As a Bonner Private Wine Partnership member, your satisfaction is all-important to us.
