Welcome to Your Cellar!

Brought to you by the Bonner Private Wine Partnership

Dear Chairman’s Circle member,

Here’s something you might not know about the Oxford Club:

Alex Green has been collecting red wines for 30 years...

Marc Lichtenfeld has an incredible palate...

In fact, they are both part of a small “private wine partnership” that brings hard-to-find wines from all over the world, straight to their doorsteps.

They have now arranged for you to receive privileged access to the Partnership as well (usually invitation only).

So far we’ve imported wines never before available in the US... including extreme altitude wines from a remote region in Argentina...

...‘old style’ Barolos seldom seen outside of Piemonte, Italy...

...and much more...

These are wines made in small batches using techniques handed down from father to son over generations. No oak extracts. No dyes (more common than you think). No harmful additives.

If you want to know more about the Partnership, you can scroll down the page. But right now, I want to tell you about YOUR “Chairman’s Circle Cellar” and the benefits you can enjoy right now...

Meet Your Chairman’s Circle Sommelier

Looking for a great wine to serve your guests? Or maybe you’re curious what a true wine connoisseur might recommend for your specific palate?

Meet your personal sommelier, Julien Miquel AIWS...

Originally from Bordeaux, Julien is a retired winemaker who has made wines all over the world, in nearly every major wine region including at Château Margaux, perhaps the most famous winery in France, as well as at Campo Eliseo in Spain where he worked alongside the world-famous Michel Rolland.

He has also served on the Wine Searcher team and is the founder of the award-winning site Social Vignerons. In 2015, he was named one of the Top Ten Most Influential People in Wine.

Discover Your Chairman’s Circle Cellar

Malbecs from grapes grown at 9,000 feet... Bolgheris that smell of breezes from the Tyrrhenian Sea... a secret region in France where vines grow in a moon-like landscape of razor-sharp schist rock...

As a Chairman’s Circle member, you can access our cellar of incredible wines.

Here’s how it works:

Several times a year, we’ll send you a note to let you know what we have in our cellar. You can order half or full cases of wine. And you’ll be able to do so at a deep discount.

Due to limited supply, we require that you register your interest with us before accessing the cellar.

It’s very easy to register: simply scroll down, enter your email address and we’ll put you on the list.

Your 9-Part Wine Masterclass

When you register below you’ll also be able to take part in a 9-Part introductory wine masterclass by retired winemaker Julien Miquel, AIWS!

As a man who has actually made wines all over the world, including at many prestigious wineries and châteaux, there’s no better guide into the world of wine than Julien.

You’ll learn how to break down wine tasting into five basic components... how to spot a ‘corked’ wine and what causes it... why you’re probably not decanting your wine correctly... a primer on the most common wine grapes... the correct serving temperature for each type of wine... and much more...

Simply scroll down to register your interest for immediate access.

The Wine Explorer's Letter

You’ll also receive a complimentary subscription to The Wine Explorer’s Letter, a members only weekly letter about the world’s greatest wine regions and amazing foreign vintages most Americans never get to taste...

What I enjoy most about the Bonner Private Wine Partnership is that I get to taste wines from all over the world that I would never have had the chance to try otherwise. – Marc Lichtenfeld

Again, this is not your average wine club. Let me tell you a little bit about the Partnership...

My name, by the way, is Will Bonner.

Our story begins with a dark, bold red wine found only in a remote mountain valley 5,000 miles away...

It was back in 2006. My father, Oxford Club founder Bill Bonner, and I bought a piece of land way up in the foothills of the Andes mountains in Argentina.

Getting there is a journey – first, a seven hour flight to Buenos Aires, then a three hour flight on the mountain town of Salta, then a six hour (if the roads are passable) trek in 4x4 across river beds, peaks, and plateaus... to a place known as the Calchaqui Valley.

It was my father’s retirement dream – the old west landscape reminded him of the cowboy novels he read as a child. This is a place where cowboys still drive herds across the high plains... where women work looms in the early dawn’s light...

...little did we know, it’s also a place where they make one of the highest altitude wines in the world, a dark red vintage so opaque it’s known as ‘black wine’ and unlike anything you’ve ever tasted.

An opaque, near-black, red wine

Sadly, when I returned to the US I couldn’t find this wine anywhere. On the rare occasion you CAN find it, bottles go for over $500 a piece!

That’s when I had an idea:

If I could just get enough people together to fill a whole shipping container with wine...then we’d be able to bring these fantastic wines to America... many for the first time ever!

So I assembled a team, including...

  • Diego Samper, a full-time “wine explorer” to do the legwork of making deals
  • Barry Gilbert, a private wine importer in California
  • Nigel Tollerman, an internationally recognized sommelier
  • Julien Miquel, a retired winemaker from France’s most famous winery

And so was born the Bonner Private Wine Partnership...

All year round, Diego, Barry, and me scour the globe for great wine and making deals directly with vineyards...

As you might assume, this is incredibly time consuming.

Winemakers can be extremely wary of foreigners (especially yankees). They want you to come visit... they want to observe how you taste wine... whether your palate is right... they ask you to long lunches where business is absolutely not to be discussed...

That’s why the Bonner Private Wine Partnership is not one of those monthly wine clubs that just bombard you with bad wine until you cancel...

The Bonner Private Wine Partnership puts out shipments just four times a year (every quarter) directly to your doorstep.

I’m now a believer and have arranged for the Partnership to conduct a tasting at my own home so I can surprise and delight a few friends. Highly recommended.

– Alex Green

But the club isn’t just about drinking wine either... it’s about adding new adventures and dimensions to your life!

We don’t just taste great wine... we learn about wine, about varietals most wine drinkers will never hear of, about regions known to only a handful of critics, about customs passed down from father to son over hundreds of years... and much more...

Typically, the Bonner Private Wine Partnership is not open to new members year-round. It’s not because we want to be exclusive. It’s simply because the wines we get tend to be extremely limited.

However, Alex and Marc – who have enjoyed many of our wines – have arranged for Chairman’s Circle members like you to join us at any time.

 Says Alex Green:

I’ve been collecting reds for over 30 years, have a decent-sized cellar, and have developed a fairly good nose. To my astonishment, Will’s wines weren’t just good. They were exquisite.

I particularly liked the 2017 La Cipriana Scopaio Bolgheri, a delicious cabernet sauvignon and syrah blend, although I tasted several other good ones as well. I’m now a believer and have arranged for the Partnership to conduct a tasting at my own home so I can surprise and delight a few friends. Highly recommended.

Says Marc:

What I enjoy most about the Bonner Private Wine Partnership is that I get to taste wines from all over the world that I would never have had the chance to try otherwise. The wines I’ve had are unique and flavorful. I love opening a new bottle for friends because I know I’m delighting them with a delicious wine that they can’t get anywhere else.

You’ll not only get access to everything else this letter has promised – Julien’s sommelier service, your ‘cellar,’ and your wine library – but you’ll also receive six great bottles of wine every quarter.

Plus, as part of your first shipment you will receive a complimentary bottle of our most exciting wine...
