Dear Reader,

This is not a wine that came easy.

It never does — not at 8,500 feet in the Calchaquí Valleys of northwestern Argentina, where the air is thin, the soil is poor, and the nearest paved road is hours away from Finca Gualfín.

In 2024, the rains barely came.

Spring arrived dry. Summer stayed dry. The glacial streams that feed the valley slowed to a trickle. The vines at Pucarilla — our high-altitude Malbec vineyard — clawed at rock and did what stressed vines do: they focused everything into the fruit that remained.

Yields were well below average. But what came off the vine — those small, thick-skinned, deeply concentrated berries — was magnificent.

Drought does something to a grape that nothing else can replicate. The vine pulls inward. Conserves. Focuses. What little fruit it produces is packed — thick-skinned, dark, dense with flavor.

That's the 2024 Tacana.

3,420 Bottles of Tacana Malbec
3,200 Bottles of Tacana Reserva

That's it. No more coming. No second run. No mass production.

As a previous Tacana buyer, you're getting first access — before this opens to the public. Once your allocation is gone, we cannot replace it.

Two Expressions. One Extraordinary Vintage.

Tacana Malbec 2024
Classic
Tacana Malbec
2024 Vintage
100% Malbec  ·  Pucarilla, Finca Gualfín
Calchaquí Valleys, Salta, Argentina
2,600m Altitude  ·  Drip Irrigated

Dark plum, blackberry, and ripe black cherry on the nose — layered with violet, cocoa, and a subtle earthiness. On the palate, full and generous, with ripe fine-grained tannins and the bright natural acidity that only high altitude can give you. Long, satisfying finish.

Malbec shaped by the mountain. Concentrated, complete, built by a vintage that demanded the best from every vine.

Tacana Reserva 2024
Reserva
Tacana Malbec Reserva
2024 Vintage
100% Malbec  ·  Pucarilla, Finca Gualfín
Calchaquí Valleys, Salta, Argentina
2,600m Altitude  ·  First & Second-use French Oak

The nose opens with dark berries and plum, deepening into tobacco, dark chocolate, dried herbs, and a minerality that reflects the terroir. On the palate: real volume and presence. Silky, polished tannins. A richness that fills the glass without ever feeling heavy. The oak frames the fruit — it doesn't mask it.

High-altitude Malbec with structure and ambition. A wine that rewards patience, a second glass, and a slow evening.

A final word

I've walked the Pucarilla vineyard in late summer heat, when the dust rises off the ridges and the sky is so blue it doesn't look real.

I've seen what the vines look like after a drought year — drawn in, focused, holding on.

And I've tasted what comes out the other side.

Winemakers from France and Italy have come to Gualfín, tasted Tacana, and asked the same question: how does this wine even exist?

Some came to make wine here. A few stayed. Most didn't — the place demands too much.

But for those who stay, and those who taste it, Tacana becomes something unforgettable.

The 2024 vintage won't be replicated. This harvest happened once. These bottles are it. Simply choose your allocation below, and join me in raising a glass to a wine the drought tried to prevent…

…but didn't.

WE CANNOT SHIP TO THESE STATES:

Arkansas, Delaware, Mississippi, Utah. If you live in one of these states, you’ll need to select an alternative delivery destination.

*Note: Shipping is available to Alaska & Hawaii for additional fee*

Please be aware: We cannot deliver to P.O. boxes. An adult signature is required for all shipments of alcohol.

A note about our Satisfaction Guarantee: Wines, sadly, are not like power tools. A hardware store can always resell a hammer you used a couple times. Not so for a bottle of wine. Once you pop the cork, it’s a total loss to us. For that reason, we cannot offer full refunds on these offers. But don’t worry, if the wine arrives and there’s something wrong with it, just give us a call and we’ll do what we can to make it right. As a member, your satisfaction is all-important to us.
