Fifteen years ago, we took over a forgotten vineyard in Angastaco. This is the first wine we’ve made from it — and we almost didn’t.

Dear Reader,

You don’t end up in Angastaco by accident.

There’s no through road. No cell service. Just dust, rock, and a stretch of valley forgotten by time — and by most winemakers.

We didn’t set out to make white wine here…

We weren’t even sure the vineyard was still alive.

Fifteen years ago, we took it over — vine by vine — from a crumbling old estate. The adobe bodega still stands, barely. But the real work happened outside, in the dirt: clearing, pruning, coaxing the vines back from silence.

And for the last eight years, we’ve sent the fruit to one of the most respected wineries in the region. (We can’t say who — the NDA makes sure of that.)

This year, we kept just 10 tons (~4,000 bottles) for ourselves.

Our winemaker took one look at the fruit and said: “I’d love to make something with that.”

So we did.

And the result is Tacana Torrontés — our first white from this place.

A dry, bright, mountain white. Floral but not sweet. Citrus and herbs, with that clean, mineral lift that only comes from grapes grown where few dare to plant.

You drink it before dinner. When the air is warm and the day’s work is done. With almonds, bread, or nothing at all.

This is a wine we’ve waited over a decade to make. And it almost never happened.
