Meet Matías & Arca Yaco

Arca Yaco is a small, high-altitude vineyard located in the Quebrada de San Lucas, a remote canyon in Salta, Argentina. Founded in 2010 by winemaker Matías Etchart, the project was born from a desire to return to something more personal: a few hectares, a focused vision, and a place with something to say.

The beauty and isolation of Arca Yaco are part of what make it so distinctive. At over 2,100 meters above sea level, the climate is extreme—sun-drenched days, cold nights, and sandy, mineral-rich soils. This tension in the environment yields wines with clarity, freshness, and structure.

Matías brings years of winemaking experience to the vineyard, but what defines Arca Yaco is not technique alone—it’s dedication. With a production of just a few thousand bottles per year, every step is carefully overseen. Each vine is hand-tended. Each fermentation starts with native yeast. Each bottle is numbered.

Arca Yaco exists to offer a pure expression of its place. Quality, not quantity, guides everything. These are wines made to reflect a land and a way of working—honest, quiet, and precise.
