Domingo Molina Pachamama Malbec 2017
When two passionate winemakers join forces, the result is magic. Pachamama reflects winemakers Rafael Domingo and Roberto Cipresso’s shared love for the land and respect for each other’s craft. Rafael Domingo’s father started his career transporting wine across northern Argentina, gaining a deep understanding of the region’s best grapes and terroirs, before deciding to buy his own land and start Domingo Hermanos winery. Grown at 2,000 meters in Cafayate, Salta, where altitude, rocky soils, and dramatic temperature shifts produce wines of extraordinary depth.

Christian Götz, a Swiss winemaker whose precision and sophistication elevate the rugged beauty of northern Argentina’s wines, softens the rough edges sometimes associated with northern Argentina’s wines, bringing their style to a new level. After years of chasing this wine—between frost, limited volumes, and pricing negotiations—we’re thrilled to finally have it. Grapes sourced from Finca Río Las Arcas, located at 8,800 feet in Salta’s Calchaquí Valley. The extreme altitude and rocky soils produce wines of incredible purity and elegance.

Francisco Morelli, or Pancho as everyone calls him, is a the winemaking bad boy in the north. Pancho’s passion for food and wine drives him to craft bottles that sit on tables across Buenos Aires—from Michelin-starred restaurants to corner empanada shops. His understanding of how wine pairs with food makes this a favorite across the city. Grapes from Cafayate and Pucará, grown at 6,500 feet. The rocky soils and sunny days create wines with freshness and concentration.

Diego met winemaker Andrés Vignoni during a tasting in Paris. Initially, he thought it would be impossible to bring his wines into the U.S., given his ties to the legendary Paul Hobbs. To his surprise, no one had brought them in yet; here was an opportunity to make Raquis our first Mendoza wine in our Argentine Collections—a true exclusive! From San Pablo, one of Mendoza’s highest zones, this malbec benefits from cool nights and extreme sunlight, producing grapes with intense flavor and balance.
