Planted in 1955, the vines of Tomal sat abandoned for decades. When discovered, the vines, mostly malbec, also had cab franc and petit verdot woven in the rows. Rather than rip them out, as most modernists would, they were all tossed together to “co-ferment”. 95 points from Tim Atkin. Cellar 1-5 years.
