Tasting Your 2021 Spanish Collection
Here at the Partnership, we have a sort of internal Michelin star rating for wines – we call it the Julien Miquel “yum” rating.
We send Julien our wine collections. We watch how many times he says “yum” while tasting.
One “yum” and we know we’ve got a real winner. A star.
But three “yums”... well that’s just unheard of.
When Julien tasted the Navarra DO Larrainzar in our new Spanish Collection – “toasted bread on the nose, like a buttery slice of brioche” – he couldn’t hold back. The yums just kept coming.
Note, too, that Julien estimates you could probably stick Larrainzar in your cellar for 20 years before opening (we had been more conservative with an opening window before 2026).
Of course, Spain is Julien’s area of expertise. He spent a good part of his winemaking career there and still lives not far from the Spanish border to this day.
