A taste of what members have poured
Santorini has been known for its wines since 1200 B.C. The island's volcanic rock — and the high winds off the Mediterranean — make it practically immune to phylloxera, so these are some of the only European vines never grafted onto American rootstock. The volcanic soil lends minerality and structure; the sea breeze adds a note of salt.
Characteristic stony minerality in the nose, followed by fruity and herbal hints. A rich, elegant mouthfeel — creamy texture balancing the dry crispness and high acidity of the Assyrtiko. Full-bodied and concentrated, with finesse, complexity, and a long, salty aftertaste.
A few steps from the medieval city of Carcassonne, Calmel & Joseph work with growers from nearly every appellation in the Languedoc. At Pézenas — 920 feet up, where jagged rock alternates with herb-strewn garrigue — long, hot summers bring the grapes to full ripeness. Just 4,860 bottles were made.
Deep, intense garnet red. A powerful nose packed with fresh fig, crushed strawberry, and blackberry, followed by truffle and white pepper. Superbly balanced in the mouth — opens incisively, with nicely chiselled tannins. Decant an hour before serving alongside charcuterie or roasted meats.
A boutique, four-generation family winery in Ribera del Duero, working inherited vineyards at 800–900 meters, where cold winters and hot summers concentrate the fruit. Made in small quantities with grape-by-grape selection, then aged twelve months in new French oak — a structured yet elegant Ribera, built to age and unfold slowly.
Deep dark cherry with a garnet rim. Ripe blackberries and blueberries mingle with redcurrant, balsamic notes, and sweet spice. Fleshy and smooth on the palate, with rounded tannins, integrated oak, and a long finish of ripe fruit, licorice, and a touch of graphite. Pour it beside lamb, game, or aged cheeses.
