From the heart of the Calchaquí Valleys — discover Arca Yaco, the mountain wines of Matías Etchart.

Arca Yaco is a boutique, extreme-altitude winery located in the Quebrada de San Lucas, in the Calchaquí Valleys of Salta, Argentina, at around 2,100 meters above sea level.

The project belongs to Matías Etchart, a descendant of the historic Etchart winemaking family. In 2010, he purchased the land that would become Arca Yaco, determined to revive his family’s heritage with a modern, artisanal spirit. The first vintage was bottled in 2015.

Production is tiny—focused entirely on quality over volume. The rocky, calcareous soils and the extreme mountain climate produce grapes of remarkable concentration, minerality, and freshness.

Vineyards Above the Clouds

In this dramatic Andean landscape, warm days and cool nights create perfect conditions for slow-ripening grapes. Every parcel is hand-tended and harvested manually. Winemaking is minimalist, emphasizing purity, balance, and the natural character of the vineyard.

Wines of Arca Yaco

Amar y Vivir — The signature red collection, led by Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Tannat. These wines are powerful yet elegant, shaped by extreme altitude and long, patient aging.

Finca El Monte — The jewel of the estate. Grapes from a single one-hectare vineyard at 2,650 meters are fermented and aged for 15 months in 500-liter French oak barrels. The result is a deep, complex wine with mountain freshness, dark fruit, and fine, silky tannins.

Imagínate — The lighter, fruit-driven side of Arca Yaco, featuring Torrontés, Chardonnay, and young Malbec — fresh, floral, and easy to enjoy.
